- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 teaspoon Dry Active Yeast
- 1 cup Warm Water (105–110°F)
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 2 teaspoon Olive Oil

Instructions
How To Make Homemade Pizza Dough
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix until fully combined. Make a well in the center of the mixture and add the olive oil and warm water. Stir with a wooden spoon to combine everything into a shaggy dough. Knead the dough for around 10 minutes by hand or use a stand mixer on low speed for about 5 minutes until it forms an elastic ball of dough. It should be slightly tacky but not too sticky when you touch it. Place the ball of dough in an oiled bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen cloth. Set aside to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size. The recipe makes two 12-inch pizzas; use half of the dough if you don’t need both pizzas at once.
Building The Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface using a rolling pin or a wine bottle. If needed, use additional flour to prevent sticking.Place the dough on a baking sheet and spread the tomato sauce over it, leaving an inch around the edges of the crust.Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top of the sauce. Add your favorite toppings as desired and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy around the edges.
Notes
- Make sure your pizza dough is at room temperature before rolling it out. The cold dough won't stretch or roll properly.
- If you're using homemade dough, it's also important to knead it well, so it becomes soft and pliable.
- Grease the baking sheet with extra virgin olive oil, so the crust doesn't stick when cooking.
- When adding toppings, be sure not to overload your pizza with too much cheese or sauce — this can make the crust soggy.

Pizza Trivia
Working in the pizza industry for years, I’ve finally accumulated some interesting pizza trivia to share! Did you know that the world record for the fastest pizza maker is held by a man from Naples, Italy, at just 11.56 seconds?
It’s also believed that the first recorded instance of pizza as we now know it appeared in Naples around 1700. If you take a look at any pizzeria today, its layout and cooking methods are largely unchanged from when pizza was first popularized hundreds of years ago.
These days the most expensive pizza reported to have been made encompassed 12 different kinds of cheese, three types of caviar, lobster and other fantastic ingredients - all adding up to an $8,000 pie!
Our delectable dishes may never reach such prices but I am so happy to have come across this amazing trivia worthy to be shared amongst my beloved foodies.
